Dentures

There are many reasons why you may lose your adult teeth. From accidents and lifestyle choices to unavoidable factors like genetics, tooth loss happens to many people as they age. When a single tooth is lost, dental bridges are an excellent option, but if you are missing many teeth, dentures will be a better fit.

Dentures are affordable and effective, and modern ones are so well-made that it’s impossible to tell they aren’t real! We are able to effectively match the color of your new dentures to your natural teeth, giving you a beautiful new smile that you can feel confident about.

Dentures

Sometimes you have more than one tooth missing. Maybe two or three or four and we’re looking at different options. There are a couple different options out there to fill those gaps. There’s an implant, which is an option, a dental implantwould be something, maybe one or two or possibly three teeth, you put an implant screw more or less into the bone and then after that, putting crowns attached to those implants. The longevity on that is great. It will last for years and years. We have research going forty years back now so it’s something that really does last a long time. It’s a little bit more of an investment up front but it’s an investment in your oral health, it really will last.

There’s another option of doing maybe a partial. A removable partial dentureis an appliance that fits on the rest of the remaining teeth by class maybe or rest on those other teeth and with that partial has fake teeth in there or false teeth in there that function like teeth. Aesthetically it’s a little bit better than having nothing there, but really it helps fill those gaps and make you be able to chew easier.

The other option, let’s say you have no teeth or less teeth in there. Maybe there’s periodontal problems or some loose teeth in there, we might be looking at doing full dentures, but with that we can really work on getting your smile back and being able to function the way our teeth should be functioning so you can chew things, that without teeth or maybe with an older pair of dentures; that will help out, make your smile brighter, be able to function easier and be able to eat the foods you want to eat.

When you come to Anderson Dental Care for dentures in Cincinnati, we will start by examining your mouth to make sure dentures will be the best option for you. We will then take an impression of your mouth which will be used to create dentures with the best fit possible.

Partial Dentures in Cincinnati

If you still have most of your teeth left, we can craft partial dentures that will fit between your remaining teeth. Partial dentures have a gum-colored base attached to a metal frame that fits snugly around adjacent teeth.

What is a partial denture? Partial dentures are an excellent way to prevent further tooth loss. When you lose a tooth, neighboring teeth can shift due to changes in bone density, leading to an increased chance of tooth loss. By wearing a set of partial dentures in Cincinnati, you can prevent tooth movement and preserve your oral health.

Full Dentures

If you have lost most or all of your teeth, full dentures are an excellent way to get your smile back. Denture technology isn’t like it used to be. Dentures are practically invisible when fit properly, and our Cincinnati dentures dentist office can make sure you get the best possible set.

Full dentures come in two varieties: immediate and conventional. Immediate dentures are made right after the removal of any remaining teeth and can be worn quickly after gum tissue has begun to heal. Conventional dentures are made after the healing period is over, usually two to three months after teeth are removed.

The advantage to immediate dentures is that they are available more quickly. As your mouth heals, bones and gums shrink, which means that immediate dentures will likely be adjusted several times before the fit is perfect.

With conventional dentures, the wait is longer, but the fit is better since they aren’t built until the healing process is complete. That way, you are assured of a closer fit from the moment you get them, making your adjustment period shorter!

Live With Dentures That Cooperate!

Ask a room full of denture patients if they’re happy with their teeth and the answer will likely be a resounding “no!” There’s just not a whole lot that’s good about wearing dentures, especially if you’ve worn them for a while. They slip, they fall out, them embarrass you, and they’ve made eating a chore – this isn’t how you should be living your life!

At Anderson Dental Care we hear from a lot of patients just like you who are unsatisfied with their dentures. We take pride in being able to offer them – and you – a way out of all the headache and humiliation that living with dentures can cause, and we can do it all with just a few dental implants.

Implant Supported Dentures

You can have replacement teeth that are comfortable and easy to wear!

Placing just a few dental implants allows us to modify your dentures (in many cases your existing ones will work) to snap in place and stay put all day. Your dental implants are topped with balls or a bar that match up to sockets or clasps on your dentures: when you wake up simply pop them in and they’ll be there until you take them out in the evening!

There are a lot of problems that we can eliminate with implant supported dentures, many which we’ve done for people just like you!
