Crowns & Bridges

Crowns protect teeth that are too damaged for a filling. Bridges replace a missing tooth. Both are made to look and feel like your natural teeth.

When a Crown Makes Sense

A crown covers the whole visible part of a tooth, holding it together and protecting it from further damage. We recommend one when a tooth is cracked, has a large filling that’s failing, or has lost too much structure for a filling to hold. Crowning a cracked tooth early can keep the crack from spreading and save the tooth.

What to Expect

At the first visit, we numb the tooth, shape it, take an impression, and place a temporary crown. Your permanent crown is custom-made to match your bite and the color of your neighboring teeth. At the second visit, we check the fit and cement it in place.

Bridges

A bridge fills the gap left by a missing tooth. It uses crowns on the teeth on either side of the gap to support a replacement tooth in between. Filling the gap keeps your other teeth from drifting and restores your bite. If the neighboring teeth are healthy and you’d rather not crown them, an implant crown may be the better option.

Insurance and Cost

Many dental insurance plans cover part of the cost of crowns and bridges, and we’ll help you understand your benefits before we start. Members of our Premier Membership Plan save 20% on treatment.
